Meeting point: Tung Chung, MTR, Exit B.
Time: 9:30 a.m., Saturday 6th March 2010
Duration: The trip will take about 3 hours
Cost: Free of charge (Cost of transportation and lunch not included)
Bring: Sunscreen and field-clothing including safety boots/shoes, wet
weather gear as appropriate. Lifejackets and hard hats will be
provided.

Overview
The Hong Kong Boundary Crossing Facilities (HKBCF) is an important part of the Hong
Kong – Zhuhai – Macao Bridge project. A detailed marine ground investigation is
underway to provide information for the HKBCF design. Over 87 boreholes, 160
vibrocores and 20 CPTs are to be completed using a number of marine ground
investigation craft.
The visit aims to give an introduction to marine ground investigation techniques.
The trip will be limited to 20 only.
