Natural Terrain - A Constraint To Development?

 

The 2002 IMM Hong Kong conference was held in November.

Keynote papers were presented by  Earl Brabb on "What are Governments Doing to Reduce the Consequence of Landslides?" and Oldrich Hungr on "Hazard and Risk Assessment in the Runout zone of Rapid Landslides".

Copies of the proceedings of the conference (18 papers, 237 pages), which include all the papers presented plus a further 5 not presented (application of regolith mapping to landslide studies, two case histories and the application of artificial intelligence to natural terrain studies) can be ordered from Alberto Dias, Hon. Secretary, IMMM – HK Branch, c/o Maunsell Geotechnical Services Ltd., 20/F Grand Central Plaza,  Tower 2, 138 Shatin Rural Committee Road, Sha Tin, NT, Hong Kong at the cost of HK$75 plus $25 packing and postage.
